Analysis and verification Engineer - Diagnostics and Dependability

At RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. Together with other engineers over the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. As ANALYSIS AND VERIFICATON ENGINEER you will be part of Electrical Propulsion Systems (EPS) department. EPS is a new unit within R&D responsible for research and development of Electrical Propulsion Systems. Within Volvo Car Corporation (VCC) we closely cooperate with product planning, other engineering units, purchasing, manufacturing and after market. We also have deep cooperation with suppliers from all over the world as well as with academia and research organisations.

At the engineering department of EPS, we are responsible to design and deliver Electrical Drive Systems (Electrical machines and Inverters), Battery Systems as well as Power Supply and Charging Systems for electrified vehicles.

We are now looking for an analysis and verification engineer who is specialized within On Board Diagnostics (OBD) and Dependability.

Job profile:

• Requirement engineering based on functional and sub-system requirements to deliver OBD and functional safety/dependability concepts
• Lead the OBD and functional safety/dependability verification work for the areas Electrical Drive, HV-battery, DC/DC and On Board Computer (OBC) both at VCC and with our suppliers
• Deliver test results in a structured way for the certification documentation
• Analyse diagnostic and other control system data from our prototypes field tests and other data logger systems
• Use the analysis result to give proposals on how to improve design and calibration data
• Develop robust calibration data and rationale for diagnostic functions, fault reactions and diagnostic core
• Utilise Elektra and Autosar structured workflow & tool chain
• Apply Functional Safety workflow and deliverables according to VCC adaptation of ISO26262
• Continuously develop working process and procedures

Your profile:

• University degree within Controls and Software engineering or equivalent competence
• Relevant job experience relative to diagnostics and Functional Safety/dependability development
• Experience from the Automotive Industry
• Well developed skills and experience of Matlab and Simulink
• Structured, data driven and good documentation skills
• Outgoing, cooperative and good communication skills
• Business acumen
• Good English skills, verbally and in writing
• Drivers license is required
