We are now looking for an Advanced Material Engineer, Fasteners!

Description

The Material Engineering & Lab Quality Team within System Integration & Testing Operations that you will be part of, is incorporated in a bigger unit Engineering Operations inside the Technical Development Organization. We are building up our Material Engineering Team consisting of - material experts of the various materials that are used in our vehicles. Material Engineering manages all material related issues from product development - requirements setting, material selection and verification in projects, production, product life and product end of life.

You will be working in an interesting workplace with open minded colleagues and a problem solution oriented atmosphere. There are possibilities to focus on and develop your knowledge in your field of expertise further. You will have strong influence on product design.

As a fasteners and screw joint expert you will support our Design Engineers in fastener design issues and cooperate closely with design and purchasing departments in Sweden and China. You will also have external contacts.

The role involves:

- Coordinate cross functional fasteners team that is responsible for fasteners catalogue, and NEVS work methods related to fasteners.
- Build, own and manage updates in fasteners catalogue as a support to designers.
- Review models and drawing in Team Center Visualizer and NX.
- Support design, test teams and production with fastening engineering competence.
- Manage quality assurance of fastener solutions by support in selection of fastener solutions, calculate, test and set appropriate torque requirements.
- Coordinate Vehicle verification of important fasteners in projects
- Solve fasteners related technical problems that arise in projects, in production and during product life.

We are looking for someone who has:

- Relevant experience within Fastening technical requirements and development expert preferable with background in Automotive Business, minimum 5 years.
- Material and surface treatment knowledge.
- University engineering education Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Driver license B.
- Excellent English and Swedish, both spoken and written.

- Have the ability to plan, prioritize and have the drive for results.
- Manage assignment by yourself in both structured and agile environments and be able to take business decisions on a daily basis.
- Be problem solving, action-orientated, creative and open minded.
- An enthusiastic team player with good communications skills
- Abilities to deal with ambiguity with capability to handle multiple tasks at the same time

NEVS is a member of the Engineering Industries and covered by current collective bargaining agreement signed by Unionen / Sveriges Ingenjörer / Ledarna.
