1 doctoral position in Human-Machine-Interaction with specialization in virtual encounters at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV), Stockholm University. Ref. No. SU FV-0875-13
DSV is located in Kista, Sweden.

Doctoral position and requirements
The doctoral position requires that the applicant can be admitted to the doctoral program in Human-Machine-Interaction. Both general and specific academic entry requirements must be met, see: http://dsv.su.se/en/research/postgrad/admission .

The doctoral position involves four years of full-time studies: one year financed by doctoral grant and three years by doctoral studentship. The position may involve administration/teaching duties up to 20% of full time, which gives that the position is prolonged corresponding to the time of admin/ teaching work. The position requires good English skills.

The area is Technology Enhanced Learning through a project on emotions and physical reactions in virtual encounters, concerning development and/or adaptation of virtual encounter systems for learning and/or rehabilitation and measurements and analysis of emotional and biophysical reactions. Applicants need undergraduate education in behavioral sciences, psychology or similar. Experience of, and expertise in, cognition, robotics, human-machine-interaction, and scientific publication in those areas, are considered additional qualifications.

Selection criteria
• Knowledge and experience in one or more of the areas: psychology, cognition, robotics, human-machine-interaction, neuro-cognitive psychology,
• experience in development, implementation, application and evaluation of virtual encounters,
• independence in analyzing and structuring previous work,
• ability to formulate, motivate and address research questions, and cogency in previous work,
• ability to communicate and cooperate well with colleagues and researchers,
• methodological and scientific maturity, and
• proven ability to adhere to prescribed timetables.

The applicants will be ranked according to the above criteria. Based on the ranking results, applicants will be contacted. The decision on admission will be made by a departmental committee.
