Volvo IT is now in an expansive phase in the Java Application Server area and we need to strengthen our team with additional staff. We work in a global environment with clients both within and outside the Volvo Group. Within this area, you have good development opportunities and you will be an important part of the operating, maintenance and enhancement of existing and new services in this area.
Job description:
You will be working with infrastructure design, implementation, tuning and fault tracing of the WebSphere on an infrastructure level. You will also be working with design and maintenance of various operational tools. The role also includes some application project assistance, in the form of design considerations that is specific for a WebSphere platform.
The work also includes daily operation, both for internal and external costumers, customer support, problem resolution, patching and implementation of new versions.
Qualifications:
For this position we are looking for a candidate that have a strong customer focus and give them high quality service. You need to have open mind and good communications skills. You should have the ability to keep many tasks in the loop. For this position you need to have a structural way of working, good document skills and know how to share information?s to your coworkers.
For this position, we need a person with:
• Experience of installation, configuration, tuning as well as daily operations of WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
• Web Server (apache / IHS)
• Knowledge of Unix and Linux
• General knowledge of Java
• Knowledge of other application servers are valuable
The general qualifications are that you have an adequate academic qualification and that you are a communicative team-player. You have to have the ability establish and maintain good relations and also have the ability to work in global, multi-cultural organization. You also have to be proficient in both spoken and written English and Swedish.
