hela Sverige Visa alla jobb hos Stiftelsen Stockholm International Water Institute i Stockholm The Water Governance Facility -WGF- is a collaboration between the United Nations Development Programme -UNDP- and the Stockholm International Water Institute -SIWI. WGF works with the governance aspects of water. It pro¬motes improved water governance reform and implementation in low- and middle income countries. The Facility works with multiple water themes that range from integrated water resources management and transboundary waters to water supply and sanitation, gender, integrity, human rights and capacity development.
The Water Integrity Programme Manager will play a key role in managing and developing activities of the WIP. She or he will oversee capacity development initiatives and promote integrity and the incorporation of good governance principles into programming of actions on the ground.
Duties of the Manager will include several of the tasks listed below:
• Support the implementation of the Water Integrity Capacity Building Programme for Middle East and North Africa -MENA. Tasks include communication with partners and day to day management of programme activities such as trainings and other events in the region
• Develop and manage the Water Integrity Programme for Latin America. This includes the development of partnership, finding new sources of funding and the implementation of new activities
• Support the implementation of the Water Integrity Capacity Building Programme for sub-Saharan Africa and the development of a continuation phase
• Support the development and design of a Capacity Building Programme on Governance-Compliance as part of the Swedish Textile Water Initiative
• Provide policy advice and support to various United Nations agencies and governments related to water integrity, transparency, accountability and participation
• Develop new and innovative ways to promote integrity and good governance principles at the international level, including the awarding of achievements
• Assist in developing methodologies and tools to advance good governance principles such as accountability in water and sanitation programming and capacity development
• Assist in the implementation of the range of Water and Sanitation governance related projects of the WGF
• Organize seminars and workshops at the World Water Week and other events
• Contribute to the full range of WGF activities.
The Manager is expected to work closely with other professionals at SIWI and UNDP and reports to the WGF Director at SIWI. The Manager needs to be able to travel internationally, as appropriate.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following capabilities:
• Master?s degree in Social Sciences or equivalent to manage governance-related tasks
• Solid understanding of governance in relation to sustainable development and poverty alleviation as well as water and natural resources management
• Several years of experience working with development issues including direct experience of working in low- and middle-income countries
• Practical expertise in the field of integrity and anti-corruption work
• Experience of working with capacity building and adult learning, preferably in developing countries
• Good track record of project development and implementation
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
Language
• English fluency is required
• Ability to work in French and Spanish is needed
• Ability to work in Arabic is highly desirable.
