hela Sverige We are currently seeking to engage a Product Development Senior Technologist to join the Wasa R&D team. The position will be based in Stockholm. This is a full-time permanent position that reports to the Wasa CoE & Product Development Associate Director.
Role purpose
As part of Wasa's Global R&D team, you will work closely with Global Marketing to lead the end-to-end development of new products, from initial concept to industrialization. Your focus will be on expanding Wasa with-in the core crispbread category and cross-technology categories, contributing to the brand evolution and global reach. The development of new products involves close collaboration with the Wasa Crispbread CoE and the Pilot Plant team. The role therefore involves frequent travel to Wasa's Pilot Plant and Industrial Production site in Filipstad (Sweden), as well as the production facility in Celle (Germany).
Your work will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of the Wasa brand through innovation and organic geographic expansions.
Key Accountabilities
Collaborate with the Marketing team to shape the Product Development Strategy, guiding the process from design definition and prototyping to final industrial production.
Identify and assess new materials and suppliers, determining the most suitable ingredients for the products in terms of quality, safety, and cost-efficiency, in partnership with Q&FS, Purchasing, Finance and supply chain teams.
Organize, conduct & document lab, pilot plant and industrial trials to optimize and define recipe and production parameters, support consumer research and select manufacturing solutions
Prepare product standard specifications, including physical, chemical, organoleptic and microbiological characteristics
Define product shelf-life by doing structured evaluations with consumers, specialists and sensory panel test
Working with the Industrialization team and Plants, organize and conducts production startup assuring product delivery in accordance with projects milestones
Maintain a constant awareness of competitor activity
Your Profile
We are looking for a structured, responsible and innovative person with attention to details. You are curious about the industry and keeping yourself updated on business trends and new products in the market. You have strong communication skills and enjoy working with many different people and cultures. You have an academic degree in Science (food related is preferred but not necessary) and at least 5 years of experience in product development or similar relevant roles. You have excellent knowledge in English, Swedish is a major advantage while German or Italian are considered a plus. We trust that you have strong computer skills and are used to working with administration and documentation. Further, you enjoy working independently and proactively to ensure success of your own projects and have a strong drive to constantly improve processes.
