The Data Services which is one of the sub-units of Shared Service Centre at Volvo Cars Group IT is now searching a Solution Architect/Technical Lead.
The Service Development and Operation (SD&O) department is one of the department in Volvo Cars Group IT , and is responsible for global application management at Volvo Car Group and works to preserve the value of, and to maintain and support, VCC's complete application portfolio in the most effective, robust and secure way.
The Shared Service Centre (SSC) is a sub-department within the SD&O and delivers cross functional Enterprise solutions with optimal Cost of ownership for efficient business execution. The SSC department delivers common and strategically mandatory services across all lines of business at Volvo Car Groups. Our mission is to secure quality, maintainability and sustainability for Enterprise solutions by being the preferred IT business partner through high quality of delivery.
The Data Services' vision & Mission is to transform data to valuable information, in the best way that realizes business requirements and with the holistic view on Total ownership of solutions. As the Solution Architect/Technical Lead of the Enterprise Data Warehouse Solutions, you will be part of the global team with the task to ensure the realization of the Data Services group's objectives. You will be one of the key resources in the team and be a member of the Governance team of the Data Services Unit. You will be responsible for the overall Technical solutions of the Enterprise Data Warehouse, ensuring the solutions being delivered are of the best value for the customers. Our mission is to be the business partner of choice by deliver the End-to-End solutions that give the best value to our customers.
Main responsibilities
Responsibilities include architecting and analysis, planning, design and development/sourcing of data into VDW according to the requirements of the projects, design and develop semantic layer for the BI users and supporting analytics solutions to meet the business needs. This includes architecting end to end solution within the scope of VDW standards. Interaction with Business users and technical SMEs to get the complete picture of the solution. The main task are as the below, but not limited to;
• Technical Review of Project
• Project Risk and Contingency Analysis
• Project Issues and estimation
• Information sourcing
• Data Profiling
• Verifying LDM/PDM
• Data Mapping/SMX Development
• ETL Development and Design
• Semantic Layer Development
• System Integration Tests
• Process Optimization
• ETL Batch Optimization
Required qualifications
• University degree or equivalent Information Technology field
• At least 3 years of knowledge and skills in Data Warehouse solutions methodology and principles, design and development
• At least 3 years of expertise and skills in System development process
• At least 3 years of knowledge and skills in ETL Design and development
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
