SEI HQ is recruiting a Product Manager for the Transparency for Sustainable Economies (Trase) initiative.
Role and responsibilities
SEI HQ is looking for an enthusiastic person with strong teamwork and project coordination skills to work within a dynamic team of researchers, helping to manage the data and digital products of an exciting development in global supply chain sustainability - the Transparency for Sustainable Economies (Trase) initiative.
Trase is entering an exciting new phase with a strategy for 2021-2025 to mainstream the deployment and uptake of Trase data to help transform the sustainability of commodity trade. This position is key to delivering on this strategy, including by improving the long-term strategic impact of Trase, as well as the day to day operation and impact of Trase 's products.
At the core of this role is the work needed to unlock the power of Trase 's digital products, including data, tools and intelligence in a way that enables and empowers target users and helps mainstream Trase 's impact at scale.
The primary responsibility for the position is to lead the development and maintenance of Trase's data and digital product offering, which includes the supply chain and finance tools housed on
www.trase.earth and
www.trase.finance, Trase Insights, and direct access channels to Trase 's data products, including via a public API and through partnerships with third-party data providers and users. Leading this work requires a critical approach to balancing opportunities for impact through product development with resource constraints and long-term maintenance requirements.
Responsibilities within the role include leading the Products team within Trase, planning roadmaps for feature development, and overseeing the data pipeline process and content management systems of our different products and features, including but not limited to the process of uploading, testing and releasing new data (supply chain and finance data for new commodities, sustainability indicators and spatial data) and features (software upgrades, performance improvements, data analysis tools, data visualizations, insights, news), as well as quality control and documentation of these processes, and collection and processing on feedback from platform users, internally and externally. Integration of Trase 's product offering with the needs of users is critical to the success of the work and the position will work closely with the Impact team in Trase to coordinate and support regular testing workshops, both internal and external, as well as engagement with strategic data and delivery partners, and target users of Trase data and intelligence to guide improvements in accessibility and usability of Trase's products.
The Product Manager role will work closely with the Trase Program Manager and an interdisciplinary team including data engineers, data scientists and researchers and the engagement team across Trase. This includes colleagues in the Trase lead partner Global Canopy in the UK, and Neural Alpha the lead partner on Trase Finance. The role will operate as the primary liaison with external companies involved in developing Trase 's product offering. In addition, the role will include work to assess opportunities to develop the revenue generating potential of some of Trase 's digital products as part of our long-term sustainability plan.
