The Engine Auxiliary Systems department within Volvo CE is currently responsible for developing components for cooling, exhaust, air intake, AdBlue and low pressure fuel systems for 4-16L engines to our off-road machinery. Due to the increased focus from Volvo CE on hybrids and fully electric machines, our department 's responsibility areas will increase and therefore we hope you want to join us in our journey towards building tomorrow!
Job description
Your main tasks as a thermal management engineer will be to simulate and design systems and components for thermal control of electrified drive trains.
The simulation part in your role will both consist of securing correct thermal behavior for different stakeholders to the thermal management system, and also securing correct behavior of de-coupled components in the thermal management system.
The design part in your role will consist of developing needed components for the thermal management system in close co-operation with suppliers and partners. Main part of work will initially be done in advanced engineering programs, but over time the work will be transferred into industrialization projects. In industrialization projects, you will be involved in providing thermal management solutions for products released to market on a large scale. To be successful in your role, it is therefore essential that you have a solid understanding of correct QDCF (Quality, Delivery, Cost and Features) for your systems and components.
The work is performed within our team of engineers at Engine Auxiliary Systems in Eskilstuna, where you will work closely with a component owner in planning your initiatives in both advanced engineering programs and industrialization projects. Together with us as a team, you will be able to grow in your knowledge areas as well as helping us and our company to grow our knowledge on our journey towards sustainable transport solutions
The work is done in a highly global environment with internal as well as external customers and partners. Good communication and cooperation skills are essential. Some travelling will be required.
Education / Competence:
M.Sc or B.Sc with 5-10 years documented experiences within relevant areas seen as a merit.
Knowledgeable with 3D/1D simulation tools for thermal systems
Simulation of control algorithms for decoupled components
Experience or willingness to learn development / specification of electromechanical components
Strong in planning and structuring your own daily work
Result oriented
Fluent in English (spoken & written)
Travel up to 10%
