hela Sverige Do you want to take on a central role in building and validating advanced test rigs that drive innovation in the automotive industry? At ALTEN, we are now looking for a Test Rig Development Engineer to join our team and support one of our major clients within the automotive industry.
In this role, you will be part of an enabler team that provides test equipment as a service - including rigs, tools, and automation solutions. You will collaborate closely with other engineers and cross-functional teams, ensuring that our test facilities meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Test Rig Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing test facilities that enable the verification of safety-critical systems. The work includes both hardware and software aspects, spanning mechanical and electrical integration, software support, vehicle simulation, and automation.
You will also support internal stakeholders by providing robust, well-documented test solutions and ensure smooth collaboration with external suppliers when defining and developing equipment.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and modify test rigs, including mechanical and electrical wiring, software integration, measurement and acquisition systems, electronic control and vehicle simulation
Develop test rig automation, data storage, and evaluation tools
Define requirements and oversee the build of test facilities
Collaborate with suppliers to specify and develop test equipment
Create tooling, instructions, and documentation to support facility usage
WE BELIEVE YOU HAVE...
5+ years of relevant experience in verification and test rig development
Experience from the automotive industry
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a service-oriented mindset and ability to support internal customers
Experience working with Vector Tools (required)
Understanding of electrical schematics and electronic circuits
Ability to analyze sensors/actuators and simulate their output
MERITORIOUS SKILLS
Python coding skills
HIL development experience (Vector, National Instruments)
Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins
Git knowledge and version control workflows
CANoe configuration skills
