Stockholm School of Economics invites applications at the assistant professor level for a tenure track position in business administration, with a focus on social media in marketing and retailing. Applicants are expected to engage in both research and teaching in this area. Strong competence in teaching and using advanced quantitative research methods is desirable. An ability to teach other areas of marketing and retailing is also valuable.

The tenure track position is located at the Center for Retailing/The Department of Marketing and Strategy. It is financed through the Antonia Ax:son Johnson Tutorial Program and the candidate will be part of the core faculty in the Retail Management Program run at the Center for Retailing. As such the candidate is expected to take an active role in tutoring students and integrating companies in teaching. Research and teaching will be equally important in the position and the candidate will be offered continuous support and training in pedagogy. The candidate is also expected to engage in industry collaborations in both teaching and research, tapping into the wide network of partner organizations of the Center for Retailing and the Stockholm School of Economics

Qualified candidates should hold a doctoral degree or its equivalent, or must have completed said requirement before taking up the position. Candidates are expected to be strong in terms of both research and teaching.

In research, the successful candidate should exhibit a research track record, as evidenced by publications in well-reputed scientific journals, a presence in the international research community, and a strong research and publication pipeline. Interest in retailing is required and experience from research in the retail context is considered a merit.

In teaching, candidates should show documented evidence of high quality teaching, preferably on different levels, including undergraduate, graduate and executive levels. Experience of coaching student projects and various industry collaborations in teaching are also considered a merit.

A tentative starting date for the successful applicant is April 2018, but the School is open to discussing other dates as well. Salaries are set on an individual basis.

About the Department of Marketing and Strategy
The Department of Marketing and Strategy is one of six departments at the Stockholm School of Economics. The department consists of ten full professors, six associate professors, four assistant professors, and some 30 PhD students. The department contributes to teaching in the bachelor, master, PhD, EMBA and executive education programs at SSE. The department also hosts about 35 research fellows (fully financed by external research grants).

Varaktighet, arbetstid
The tenure track period is 6 years conditional on successful mid-term review after 3 years. A successful evaluation after 6 years leads to conversion of the tenure-track position to a tenured associate professor position.
