The section Workshop & Owners Information produces and develops all information (including special tools) used in workshops that repair and service Volvo Cars. Examples of information is parts information, wiring diagram, standard times, service information, repair methods, diagnostic information, software packages and owner's information. The Section consist of 7 groups, this role is within the group Workshop Information Electrical.
As Technical Parts Engineer your task is to prepare and update an optimal range of spare parts during the lifecycle of the car Your responsibility is to set spare parts requirements for all car projects. Together with the Parts Editor you will develop, maintain and produce parts information, presenting the offered product range for our customers and workshops. Important contact surfaces are Research & Development as well as Customer Service Aftermarket Logistics. We are currently looking for a Technical Parts Engineer in the field of power distribution, cabling and components.
Main responsibilities
• Monitor activities in new car projects and running changes, collect data and prepare it for further processing in Customer Service
• Define the range of spare parts needed by an optimal component breakdown with respect to technology, functionality, quality, cost of ownership as well as health and environment
• Promote teamwork between R&D, Purchasing and Customer Service in the development phase by early active participation in the projects
• Create forecasts and follow up new car- & running projects by reporting deviations to the units project leaders
• Initiate product changes and design tasks
• Internal and external technical support of spare parts
Required qualifications
• University Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or relevant work experience
• Fluent in Swedish and English both oral and written
• Experience from Aftermarket and Parts handling is preferred
• Vehicle Knowledge is preferred
• Experience in product development process is meritorious
