Due to our continuous grow Tata Technologies Nordics AB is now looking to recruit a Technical Lead to join our team in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The role
The V&V Lead Engineer will be responsible for leading verification and validation activities for embedded software systems. This includes ensuring software quality through rigorous testing strategies such as Model-in-the-Loop (MIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in model-based development, test automation, and embedded systems validation, and will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of software components.

Area of Responsibility
1. Test Strategy & Planning
• Define and maintain the V&V strategy aligned with project milestones and integration points.
• Develop comprehensive test plans covering unit, integration, and component-level testing.
• Ensure traceability between requirements and test cases using industry-standard tools.
2. Test Development & Execution
• Lead the development of automated test cases using tools such as Simulink Test, Simulink Coverage, and Design Verifier.
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of test harnesses for MIL, SIL, and HIL environments.
• Integrate and monitor automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines.
3. Quality Assurance & Metrics
• Track and report on key quality metrics: test coverage, defect detection rate, regression frequency, and requirement traceability.
• Review test results and CI/CD logs to ensure continuous quality assurance.
• Drive improvements in test coverage and defect prevention.
4. Governance & Reporting
• Present test results, coverage reports, and defect analysis at project governance meetings.
• Collaborate with development leads to prioritize defect resolution and test improvements.
• Maintain progress dashboards and burn-down charts.
5. Team Leadership & Collaboration
• Mentor and guide junior test engineers and developers on V&V best practices.
• Facilitate refinement meetings and coordinate with stakeholders to align on priorities.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all V&V-related activities.
Knowledge / Experience:
Technical Skills
Strong expertise in Simulink, Stateflow, and Embedded Coder.
Deep understanding of AUTOSAR architecture, including Software Components (SWCs), RTE, and BSW integration.
Proficient in MIL/SIL/HIL testing and validation on hardware platforms.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation frameworks.
Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
Tooling Proficiency
Simulink Test, Simulink Coverage, Design Verifier, Lauterbach Trace32.
Git, JIRA, Polarion, Jenkins/GitLab CI.
CAN/LIN protocols and diagnostic tools.
Soft Skills
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in automotive or safety-critical embedded systems.
Knowledge of model-based development lifecycle and toolchains.
Proficiency in requirement-based testing and traceability.
