Security and System Safety is a group within the department Electrical Systems Design. We protect assets important to the customer by providing in-vehicle Security solutions, including Privacy. We also have a cross cooperation lead for System Safety. The Security team in the group works with requirements on complete vehicle and system level, as well as developing Security solutions in close cooperation with System Architects, Product Strategy, Infotainment and IT departments. Requirements and solutions are deployed both to in-vehicle and surrounding systems.
The Volvo Cars Technical Specialist Program is an internationally recognized career path and a vital contributor to the implementation of strategies for technological leadership. The Technical Expert role provides expertise and strategic directions in one scientific discipline or competence area. We are now looking for a Technical Expert Security and Privacy. The car is increasingly becoming an integrated part of the IT society, thus getting dramatically more exposed to threats e.g. cyber-attacks. A large amount of the value of a modern car consists of embedded data and services connected to the IT eco system. This value needs protection. As Technical Expert you will lead Volvo's strategic direction for in-vehicle Security and Privacy. You will be part of a central instance with excellent insight in ongoing development programs within Volvo Cars, and you will contribute to development of Security and Privacy in an international context.
Main responsibilities
* Maintain a road-map for Security and Privacy within Volvo Car Group, including strategies for future technology development.
* Being a Volvo Car Group spokesperson for the Security and Privacy area.
* Support Volvo's organization with facts and experiences, scientific and strategic input
* Define research projects and working with academia and partners
* Network with external organizations and peers
* Cross-functional lead of strategies and development efforts within Security and Privacy.
* Collaborate and represent Volvo Cars in the international standardization community with regards to Security and Privacy.
* Lead global surveillance, including customer needs and benchmark
* Teach, mentor and coach, secure up-to-date competence in continuity
Required qualifications
* M Sc in Software, Electrical or Computer engineering, or other relevant experience based on work experience.
* At least 10 years of work and a recognized leadership within the area of embedded security systems.
* Experience in all development program phases from Pre-Program through launch including one major program or system equivalent.
* Demonstrated capability and willingness to teach, mentor and document technical knowledge, e.g. conference papers, education material
* Demonstrated initiative and capability to provide leadership/support to peers and management within Security, to assure the delivery of transfer of technology and/ or programs.
* Used to giving lectures at suppliers, academy etc.
* Demonstrated personal contribution in development of advanced technologies/ processes and transfer of technology.
* Has demonstrated communication skills during negotiations with suppliers, authorities etc.
* Experience producing technical publications/reports.
