The Technical Area Manager ensures the reliability and efficiency of the production and packaging lines, general and auxiliary facilities, planning and managing the maintenance activities ordinary, extraordinary, internal and external resources and the revamping interventions. This includes also proposing and implementing the investment projects and the interventions planned in order to maximize the performance of the production lines, guarantying the spare parts availability, respecting the plant necessities, the Superior guidelines and the Group Unit Functions.

Key Accountabilities
• Steer the technical consultation and support of the Production department in all technical questions (e.g. investments, optimization, technological advancements), also taking into account operational and economic considerations by ensuring the continuous observation and analysis of relevant technologies, in conjunction with Production and Quality and Technology, in order to contribute to the technical innovation and upgrading of the plan's assets.
• Lead the drafting and approval process for annual investment plans for the plant in Filipstad, to be authorized by the superior, including technical and operational project management in regards to new investments on equipment and technology, and coordinate the collaboration with external service providers in cooperation with Production, Quality and Technology and Technical Development in order to maintain technological requirements for the production site.
• Steer and monitor the maintenance cost controlling process in cooperation with Controlling and report deviations to the superior in order to adhere to the authorized budget.
• Ensure the continuous maintenance of the production facilities, the timely execution of major repairs as well as the prioritization of assignments during disruptions in operations in cooperation with Production and Quality and Technology in order to minimize the downtime (currently in a three-shift operational structure).
• Ensure the required supply of energy (electricity, steam power, gas and heating oil) for the production site by coordinating the optimal mix between own and externally sourced energy supply in order to enable production.
• Coordinate the bid process, commissioning and deliveries of necessary external technical services (e.g. engineers) in cooperation with Production as well as in agreement with the superior or Headquarters, if necessary.
• Member of Plant Management Team and of Food Safety Team. Area of responsibility in FST defined according to S12.65 HACCP Barilla Filipstad (Food Safety Team)
• Guide, motivate and develop direct reports within the company's human capital policies.


Required Skills
• Master of Science or equivalent degree in Engineering
• Minimum 5 years in a managerial role within industry sector (preferably process industry) in an international environment
• Previous experience in management of senior leaders and big teams.
• Fluency in Swedish and English is a must
