Safety Electronics has been a rapidly growing part of Volvo Car Corporation over the last decade. The area of Active Safety where Volvo, through continuous launching innovative and world first safety features, has positioned itself among the leaders of the automotive industry. Now the work continues to reach our ambitious vision that by 2020 no one should be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo.
Within Protective Safety we are now looking for a System Design Engineer SW who will become part of the team. For our future AD vehicles, a new ECU will be developed for Safe Stop functionality. This ECU will contain a SW with internally developed functionality. A SW design engineer will set requirements, review the suppliers' implementation and quality assure the product.
We develop and maintain the electronic sensors and control systems for today and tomorrow.
Main responsibilities
The System Designer responsible for software is to define and develop software components that fulfils the system requirements. Planning, implementation, follow-up of external and internal suppliers, working with target SW evolvement across project and vehicles.
Tasks
* Create ECU software objects representing the software design.
* Allocate system design to the software, i.e. map logical design components to ECU software's and SWC's.
* Create and maintain the software interfaces, e.g. delegate ports and associated attributes from logical design components to ECU software objects and SWC objects.
* Validate and consistency check the software design.
* Create diagnosis data.
* Review and handle incoming requirements, e.g. base-tech requirements, cross-product requirements, and requirements from logical design.
* Generate and deliver Software requirements specification (SWRS) to supplier.
* Ensure that SWRS is formally inspected and released both internal VCC and at the supplier
* Release software through the VCC release process.
Required qualifications
* M.Sc. degree in engineering within electronics
* Driver 's license valid in Sweden
* Excellent English skills, verbally and written
* Experience of automotive industry
* Practical experience of electronics and software development
* Experience of tools, processes and workflows within SW requirement and development
