About the Role
Our innovative IT DSR (Data Science and Research) team drives the transformation of our data platform. As we replace our existing infrastructure and integrate with broader data warehouse initiatives, we are looking for a skilled Systems Administrator with a focus on DataOps, to play a pivotal role in shaping our evolving data landscape.
As our new System Administrator you will be providing crucial technical support to our Data Engineers and other DSR team members developing Solutions for Sales departments, specializing in Air content, Ancillaries, and Pricing. We believe that you will contribute to strengthening our delivery capabilities and subsequently meeting the growing demands of our dynamic data infrastructure.
In this role you will work closely with:
Platform Construction and Maintenance
Data Infrastructure Management
Automation and Efficiency
More specifically you will
Lead the on-prem data platform construction, overseeing systems implementation for data collection, processing, storage and analysis
Troubleshoot our Kubernetes-based platform and installed services for seamless functionality
Manage data infrastructure, covering databases and big-data systems
Assure data quality and integrity through robust monitoring processes and systems
Drive data automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and minimize errors
Requirements
Over 5 years of hands-on experience in system administration, data operations, or related fields, particularly on Linux systems
Proven expertise in administering big data processing and distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark, Zookeeper, Kafka or equivalent tools
Experience with Kubernetes and Cloud Native products in on-prem clouds or AWS
Proficiency in monitoring tools/platforms like Prometheus, Grafana and Kibana
Familiarity with data pipeline and workflow management tools such as Airflow or Nifi
Experience with distributed file systems like HDFS and Ceph
Proficient in both SQL and NoSQL databases
Understanding of DevOps principles and technologies, including CI/CD using Jenkins or Harness, containerization (Docker) and infrastructure as Code
Exposure to programming in Scala and Spark is a plus
Understanding of data governance and data quality management
