Our sustainability team consists of two persons, and we 're now looking for a Sustainability Manager to join us. As we are a small team, we work very close together but also in collaboration with other in-house departments and stakeholders.
What will you do?
Your role as Sustainability Manager is to support the company targets in Sustainability through sustainability initiatives that are evaluated and prioritized according to impact, cost/benefit and visibility. You will ensure we uphold a ISO14001 certification and develop the Sustainability Management System. Your responsibility is also to maintain knowledge of relevant environmental regulation and reporting need and ensure policies, systems and processes.
Some of your key responsibilities:
• Initiate and manage projects withing the Sustainability focus areas.
• Evaluate and support implementation of environmental legislation (Swedish, UK and EU) to secure that the company is legally compliant. Assist Ship Management and Ports & Terminals with regard to environmental issues, rules and permits.
• Maintain communication and represent the company towards national authorities and NGO's as required.
• Responsible for ISO 14001certification. Ensure smooth integration of - the system in daily operations.
• Perform Management Review of the Sustainability management system. Arrange external and internal audits with ISO-team around the regions and ensure corrective action is taken when needed.
• Ensure alignment with Stena AB Sustainability system and reporting of KPI's.
• With Head of Sustainability propose yearly KPI's and targets per focus area for the operational units. Follow up yearly KPI's against targets with Business regions and functions.
• Ensure correct reporting of progress is reported to Stena Line management meetings.
• Suggest improvements to Stena Line's policies and guidelines when needed.
• With Sustainability Controller ensure reporting to customers, authorities and ESG rating institutes are handled in an efficient way.
• Keep up to date on what new initiatives and trends are developing in relevant areas of Sustainability and the work with UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Who are you?

As a person you need to be analytical and detail-oriented, but still have the ability to see the bigger picture. You are organized, independent and take full responsibility for your own work. You are also a social and communicative team player, who knows how to collaborate with everyone within the organization. You have a strong business acumen combined with high integrity. With your solid experience and competence in the area, we believe you can help our team to set sails towards a sustainable future?!
The must-haves:
• University Degree in environment science, chemistry, technology or equivalent
• Experience in working with sustainability within shipping, transport or logistics
• Experience in managing ISO14001 environmental management systems
• Experience in environmental legislation/reporting
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
