About the Role:
We are seeking a high-caliber Staff Engineer to serve as the technical anchor for a transformative digital therapy platform. Our client is currently consolidating three legacy systems into a single, unified, multi-market solution designed to provide video- and chat-based therapy alongside self-guided treatment modules.
In this hands-on leadership position, you will own the architectural foundation of the project. You will be responsible for making critical early-stage decisions, delivering a robust initial version of the platform, and establishing a clear technical roadmap that a team of senior full-stack engineers will follow. This is a prime opportunity to modernize a health-tech ecosystem and build a scalable, cloud-native architecture from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
Architectural Foundation: Design and implement a multi-tenant, multi-market platform architecture that supports long-term international expansion.

Technical Standards: Define the strategy for data modeling, service boundaries, APIs, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD pipelines.

Security & Access: Establish secure authentication flows and develop self-service capabilities for different regional markets and internal teams.

Hands-on Execution: Lead by example by delivering high-quality code and an initial MVP to set the pace for the engineering team.

Documentation & Governance: Document all architectural choices to ensure the system remains maintainable and adaptable as it scales.

Stakeholder Management: Maintain transparent communication with business stakeholders to build trust and align technical progress with product goals.

Requirements:
Cloud Expertise: Deep experience with AWS in cloud-native environments (Azure experience is a significant plus).

Technical Stack: Advanced proficiency in TypeScript and React is essential.

Leadership Experience: Proven track record as a Lead Developer or Staff Engineer, particularly in designing new architectures that integrate with legacy systems.

SaaS & Compliance: Strong understanding of regulated multi-tenant SaaS environments; experience in the Healthcare sector is highly preferred.

Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Distributed Systems: Familiarity with external video technology providers and working within complex, multi-system environments.

Nice to Have: Knowledge of ISO 27001, experience with React Native, and a background in HealthTech.

Details:
Start Date: ASAP

Assignment Length: 6 months (with potential for extension)

Location: Stockholm (Hybrid)
