Axis is looking for the right person to fill an opening position as a Software Engineer at the Firmware Extensions team within our Research & Development (R&D) organization.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
In this role you will take an active part in development projects. As a Software Engineer you will work with development of functional and architectural additions and enhancements in the application platform, using C and Linux. You will perform analysis, design, implementation and write unit- and functional tests of new functionality in the platform. Furthermore you will work with quality-enhancing activities such as debugging and bug fixing.
In your daily work you will be a part of a project and interface other developers and project managers, as well as a variety of different stakeholders throughout the organization.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe you have a genuine and solid interest in programming and a Bachelor's or a Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent. You also have good C-programming skills and experience from working in a Linux environment. Since you will work in an international environment it's necessary that you have excellent communications skills in English, both written and oral.
As a person we think you are a team player with good social skills. You are open minded, eager and willing to learn. You thrive to take responsibility and takes pride in delivering quality on time.
In addition to the above, experience from one or more of the following areas is considered a merit:
• Embedded systems programing
• RDBMS and SQL
• Writing unit- and functional tests
• Script languages, e g Python
• Developing for the open source community
THE FIRMWARE EXTENSIONS TEAM
The Firmware Extensions Team is a part of R&D and develops functional and architectural additions and enhancements in the Linux Application Platform. As a member of the team you will be part of all stages of development - from analysis of business cases to design, implementation, testing and delivery.
