The Job
We're looking for a person to help us develop our new tool for small businesses: The Climate Bookkeeper, which automatically turns financial data into actionable climate information.
In this job, you will
• dive into lots of data and build technology to understand, classify and test it
• help hundreds (and shortly, hopefully thousands) of companies with their sustainability work and make a huge positive impact on the planet
• use Python as your main programming language and Google Cloud Platform as your production environment
• work in a truly cross-functional team that goes beyond just development and design, with ownership of the full product process including customer interaction and business development
Since we're a small team with flexible roles there are other responsibilities that could be relevant to add to this position, depending on your areas of interest and passions.

What We Expect from You
Because of the way we work, we're looking for a person who has:
• the ability to self-direct your work with our purpose in mind
• a mindset of continuous improvement of all aspects of work
• a preference to working as part of a team
To be a good fit for this position, we believe you are good at
• Programming - preferably in Python but your general software experience and curiosity is more important than specific language skills
• Software Engineering - building maintainable and evolvable software using tools and techniques like continuous deployment and test-driven design
Ideally you also bring skills within
• Data Engineering - creating and maintaining high-quality datasets in a modern cloud environment
• Data Science - developing models and algorithms to convert financial data into climate impact information using any combination of simple heuristics and more advanced techniques like NLP and machine learning
We're looking for someone with a few years of experience working in product or development teams, but being the right fit for the team is more important than specific previous experience.
