Software Engineer
Kongsberg Automotive AB in Mullsjö is part of the Kongsberg Automotive group. The product development within Kongsberg Automotive is subject to global competition, with high demands on our performance. Kongsberg Automotive have now started a new Center of Excellence (COE) for Electronic and SW development in Mullsjö. This team will be responsible for design, development and test of the electronics for the full product range within all business areas in Europe. We also work together with our colleagues in North America and Asia in a global automotive market.

Our objective is to be in the global frontline of our product ranges where electronics is having an increasing impact on our designs. Working towards global customers and suppliers means a great portion of international contacts. You are a part of a functional team that works with the full range from concept studies to product design and refinement of existing products.

Role description:

As Software Engineer you study, design and develop embedded and PC software, as part of the system design. You will work with the electronic designer to design integrated circuits, participate in start up, evaluation and ensure maintenance of the software component and of electronic equipment. Your knowledge of electronic material enables you to work on complex projects with autonomous and embedded systems.

In that capacity, you will together with the team prepare software quotes for electronic products, establish product proposals and ensure product development, technical drawings, functional diagrams, write the code, prepare documentation, establishes plans and functional / qualification test procedures for the software. Furthermore, you will support and/or participates in the actual testing and approval of the reports.

Qualifications:

• MSc / BSc Engineering degree or similar
• Experience of design and develop embedded real-time software, including some experience on safety critical (automotive, military, medical) design and testing
• Knowledge of programming software, including C, C++ and GUI (graphic interface)
• Knowledge of microcontrollers like: ST, Microship, Freescale, Atmel, Infineon, etc.
• Knowledge of algorithm development for electronic component recognition and modeling of their interconnections
• Knowledge with CAN, LIN or similar interfaces
• Team player with a strong drive and a positive attitude.
• Committed, self starting, taking responsibility, high focus and interest to improve the day-to-day work.
• Experience from ISO 16750, IEC 61508, MISRA, Autosar and ISO 26262 or similar is also valuable.
• Fluency in spoken and written English
