HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a business unit within ABB's Power Grids division that develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market to transmit power over long distances, connect systems and improve performance. We are looking for a Simulation Tool and Model Development Engineer to join our System Design team in Ludvika.

Your responsibilities
Design, maintenance and development of models for multiple offline simulation tools used for power system studies.
Program structure and internal code module definitions.
Control and protection system representation.
Model testing and verification procedures.
Simulation tool and process development.
Support to study engineers and other departments.

Your background
Bachelor or master's degree in electrical engineering, Power Engineering, Software Engineering, Engineering Physics or similar field.
Knowledge and combined interest in programming (C++, C#, Fortran, Python, MATLAB), control theory, dynamic modelling and simulation tools (PSCAD, EMTP-RV, Hypersim). Previous experience is meriting.
Proficient in English since you will be part of a company that operates on the global arena.
Ability to work independently but also in team with dedicated focus, ambition and drive.
