Service platform Engineer, Telia Carrier
The position as Service Platform Engineer is located within the Service Production team within Networks at Telia Carrier. The overall purpose of the team is to manage long term lifecycle planning as well as tactical planning and implementations of the Service Platforms for International Voice and Mobile Data. The team consists of nine team members today, spread over three countries, and we are now replacement recruiting as one of our specialists is moving on to new challenges within Telia.
The open position will be working on the range from lifecycle planning to tactical planning tasks for our wholesale signaling service platforms serving operators over the world on their needs.

Education and experience
Required:
• In-depth technical knowledge of Roaming, International Roaming services (2G/3G/4G), MMS and other IPX-based services.
• General knowledge of IP and IP VPN protocols
• In-depth Experience of specifically protocols SCTP, Diameter and SIGTRAN (including underlying C7 layers)
• Experience of Fault Management and Analysing previous mentioned protocols by using test tools such as for example OSIX (Polystar) or WireShark
• Technical know-how of Application Platform Production within International Carrier business, such as experience working with utilization, dimensioning and optimization as well as configuration, migration and change management.
• Minimum 5 years ' experience of Service Application Platform production from a transactional intensive business, preferably within IP-based Telecommunication Services
• A university engineering degree, preferably telecommunications or a related area
• Experience in heading or participating in major technical change projects within an international environment, including managing vendors operationally
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
Meriting:
• Solid knowledge of modern IP-based technologies
• Good business understanding of international carrier mobile data business
• Experience of Mobile services such as Camel, SMS Welcome and Roaming Traffic Steering
• Knowledge of further protocols such as SS7/C7 over TDM and TCP + SMTP for MMS.
• Relevant certifications: Cisco/Juniper or other certifications.
The responsibilities of a Service Platform Engineer include:
• Service Application layer production planning - i.e. utilization, dimensioning and optimization.
• Service Application configuration and verification.
• Solution ownership of network elements and OSS systems
• Participation in development and integration projects related to service platforms
• Responsible for service platform change projects (software updates and implementation projects)
• Change management and planned works.
• Close cooperation and interface towards network units during installations, backbone expansions or infrastructure related work.
• Responsible for handing over implemented platform changes to Service assurance organisation
• Responsible for keeping service platform solution documentation up to date
• Provide training to relevant teams
• Customized solutions approval and design support
• Subject matter expert - support other units such as products, networks and service assurance.
