Rebtel is looking for a Senior VoIP Engineer

The Job
We're looking for a senior VoIP Engineer to lead our calling platform and its architecture, infrastructure, quality, charging and operation. Your responsibility will span:
• Create a cloud based global SIP architecture for signalling, media, IVR and conferencing handling Rebtel's >1 billion minutes a year. Bringing such architecture to life by building it and/or by sourcing it through partners.
• Create a strategy for voice quality evaluation and improvement and take our voice quality to the next level and to bring voice quality transparency.
• Facilitate integration of the calling platform with our in-house developed online charging system.
• Create a strategy for how to operate the calling platform in a lean way leveraging great tools and partners.
You will of course have support of our experienced team of telecom experts and backend developers.
A successful candidate is a person who enjoys the operational aspects of the platform as much as the architectural aspects.
Skills and Experience:
• +3 years experience with building, operating and maintaining SIP deployments leveraging open source products.
• A strong foundation in telecommunications and computer science. You understand the fundamentals of both packet-switched and circuit-switched networks
• Fluent in SIP and RTP with a deep understanding of Kamailio and complementary SIP systems like Asterisk and SEMS.
• Love to make an impact in collaborative and enthusiastic teams.
• Strong interpersonal skills
Bonus Skills and Experience:
• You've built large-scale VoIP systems
• You've contributed to open-source VoIP projects.
• Strong infrastructure skills and preferably from AWS or other cloud providers
• Formal theoretical background (BSc., MSc., ...)
Personality
• Hardworking.
• Solution oriented and realistic.
• Loves to win and understands that nobody wins unless the Rebtel wins.
• Into the details and passionate about quality.
You will report to the CTO.
