About Adventure Box
Adventure Box faces many interesting UX research, UX design, and UI design challenges, in part because our market is huge. More kids, more adults, and more nationalities can be reached through desktop and mobile browsers than through a downloaded application. UX research informs us where users hit confusion (so we can fix that), find delight (so we can emphasize that), and achieve creative flow (so we can enhance that). UX design streamlines our onboarding, making, and sharing. UI design helps us provide seamless interactivity on mobile and desktop, with visual cues and consistency that inspires user delight and long term retention.
UI Designer Role
You will take the lead in creating prototype UI designs in React or Storybook.js for our web based game system. You will collaborate on UX research and UX designs, but not necessarily lead those efforts. You will work with JavaScript engineers and Java engineers who will create production versions of your designs. You may use our AB tester system to assess how users resonate with different UI Design options.
The UI Designer role participates in the "value team" at Adventure Box, creating user delight and helping increase our user retention and virality through great design.
Qualifications
A portfolio demonstrating web-based UI Design for games or content editors
A portfolio or guidance template that promotes a consistent design language (Google's "Material Design" and Microsoft's "Metro UI" are design languages. We would like to establish one for Adventure Box.)
A clear understanding of the difference between UI Design and UX Design.
At least 3 years of commercial experience in UI Design
Fluent in English (CV and cover letter must be in English)
Plusses
Experience recommending web UI controls to developers in React and/or Storybook.js (both JavaScript tools).
Written material shared in a company that demonstrates how you teach/explain your UI philosophy to others.
Experience
We expect you to have several years of experience, preferably with web games on mobile and desktop.
