Volvo Group Telematics enables & accelerate customer-oriented off-board telematics service development & delivery. Volvo Group Telematics supports the Volvo Group whilst the WirelessCar brand is used to support external customers in the Automotive Car OEM segment such as BMW and Audi.
Service Operations (SO) within VGT is responsible for providing runtime services ensuring that our customer deliveries are supported and managed in accordance with agreed service levels. Prior to runtime SO provide one time services to bring new services and/or markets into production.
Some Telematics services provided by VGT are used in life saving situations such as automatic vehicle crash detection and notification systems. This places high demands on the infrastructure and services we provide, which is why we require skilled and dedicated team members to ensure a totally reliable delivery.
VGT faces continual growth to support business demands (new application features development, geographic expansion and new customers) in different parts of the world. This generates an increasing number of projects that need to be handled within Service Operations. Coordinating the activities from Service Operations is the responsibility of the Technical Project Manager (TPM). In order to strengthen the TPM team, VGT is looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager. Using your extensive experience in leading Infrastructure or IT related projects you will act as a team leader, mentor and guide for our other TPM's as well as driving your own infrastructure related deliveries.
Main Responsibilities
Acting as a team leader together with our other TPM's to improve deliveries and efficiency, coaching, sharing experiences, methods and best practices.
Managing projects to coordinate Service Operation deliveries into development projects or other autonomous deliveries.
Promoting Service Operation requirements on developed solutions or infrastructure deliveries to ensure quality of deliveries to SO runtime are suitable for production.
Managing and motivating the assigned resources within the project, following up on issues etc to ensure a smooth delivery.
Ensuring team members are fully aware of the goals and deadlines of the project as well as their individual roles and responsibilities needed for a successful delivery.
Responsible for reporting and following up on the infrastructure projects.
Managing changes and re-planning the project when needed to meet new or changed objectives.
Responsible for determining and following the cost budget for the Infrastructure project and recommending subsequent budget changes when necessary.
Key performance indicators for the Project Manager include delivery precision and customer satisfaction.
This position requires:
• +5 years of Infrastructure project management experience
• Proven leadership skills in project management positions
• Good knowledge of IT infrastructure components
• Natural ability to enthuse and motivate project and team members
• Ability to dynamically manage scope, time and delivery
• Strong interest in technical solutions
• Ability to establish and maintain good relations with our internal and external partners
• PMI/PMP Certification and/or IS-GDP4IT experience is a plus
