Senior Safety System Engineer - Powertrain Engineering Controls & Calibration
The function area of Powertrain Engineering at CEVT is responsible for the development of transmissions and electric propulsion systems and the controls associated with these systems. In the area, the Controls & Calibration unit is responsible for the development and industrialization of the controls for new powertrain systems. Those systems are the main future and global technologies for the Geely group. They are ranging from present combustion engines into new energy concepts. The controls & calibration development is carried out in-house using state-of-the-art methods.
To strengthen our team for future challenges and projects, we are now looking for a senior system engineer in the area of safety.
A creative, senior engineer is encouraged to join a strong team focused on leading cutting-edge technology development with the end customer in focus.
Role Summary
As Senior Safety System Engineer - Powertrain Engineering Controls & Calibration you are leading the work in your technical area of expertise. You are working closely with the other functions in the area of Powertrain Engineering, developing the next generation of powertrain controls for conventional and new energy powertrains.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Lead the development in safety related area
- Evaluate and review supplier documentation such as specifications, reports, etc.
- Write the specifications for safety on system level and where applicable support in writing specifications on lower levels, e.g. on component level
- Convey the consequences and implications of safety to stake holders in- and out-side of the development team
- Answer questions regarding standards and requirements related to safety
- Analyze, provide feedback and develop procedures and processes, e.g. for calibration, verification/validation or for software and function development
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor or Master Degree in engineering or equivalent experience
- More than 10 years of relevant experience as a system engineer
- Fundamental understanding of the development processes in safety, e.g. implementation, simulation, testing and troubleshooting.
- Meriting is knowledge in tools like Matlab and Simulink
- Driven problem solver who takes initiatives and responds to changing priorities
- Team player but have the ability to work independently
- Good oral and written communication skills in English
- Ability to travel
- Driver's license B
