About the role
The Quality & Compliance Division is responsible for Quality Management at ESS with special focus on Quality Assurance and Quality Control. One of the main objectives is to develop, implement and maintain a relevant Integrated Management System (IMS). The Quality & Compliance Division acts as a support function to the entire ESS project during design, construction, commissioning and operation of the ESS facility and currently is in an evolving phase.
ESS is now in search of a Senior Quality Assurance Officer within the Quality & Compliance Division. As the Senior Quality Assurance Officer, you will be a key player in the Quality Assurance team within the division. The Senior Quality Assurance Officer will report to the Head of Quality & Compliance Division.
The main responsibilities for the Senior Quality Assurance Officer will be to support the Quality & Compliance Division and ESS with its sub-projects in the ESS Management System, addressing various disciplines (quality, safety/security, radiation protection and operations).
The successful candidate will play a key role in Quality Assurance activities, such as:
• Promote a stakeholder-focused organisation-wide Quality culture.
• Take a leading role in updating the current IMS to be fit for ESS Operations phase
• Take an active role in supporting the process owners in creation of IMS methodologies, including creating and updating current documentation.
• Implement Quality & Compliance management processes and train personnel globally in the ESS organisation.
• Plan and perform ESS global Quality coordination meetings.
• Initiate and manage internal Quality & Compliance improvement projects.
• Support the ESS organisation with non-conformance and continuous improvement management.
• Support licensing permit applications in areas of expertise governed by the Quality & Compliance Division.
• Prepare and participate in Management Review Meetings.
• Occasionally act as replacer for the Head of Quality & Compliance Division.
About you
To be successful in this position you are required to have a Master degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent, and at least 6-8 years of work experience in the field of Quality Assurance and management systems. Through this experience, you have gained excellent knowledge and understanding of relevant standards and regulations. A background in a highly regulated business/organisation within research, nuclear industry, life science or oil and gas is a major advantage.
You are a proficient user of Excel. Fluency in written and spoken English is a requirement, as it is the working language at ESS. Fluency in written and spoken Swedish is an advantage.
You have a well-developed ability to listen, to consult with others and to communicate proactively with a high level of integrity, at all levels in the organisation. Building wide and effective networks of contacts both inside and outside the organisation comes naturally to you. You have leadership qualities and are used to influencing others.
You structure information to meet the needs and understanding of the intended audience and produce written material in a well-structured and logical way. Your focus is on stakeholder needs and satisfaction and you monitor and maintain a high level of quality and productivity in your deliveries. A well-developed ability for both collaborative and independent work is expected. You enjoy a dynamic, diverse and international workplace.
This is a permanent, full-time position (6 months' probationary period), placed in Lund, Sweden, and we need someone who can start as soon as practically possible.
