Global Procurement Body & Exterior within Global Procurement Hardware at Volvo Cars is responsible for developing purchasing strategies, new vehicle sourcing, supplier quality, supplier foot print set-up/optimization and non-design cost reduction for all direct material supplies to Volvo Cars related to components within the area. We now have an open position as Senior Purchasing Manager within this area.
The Group you will be leading is a team of eight talented purchaser. We have a highly open and energetic work environment where we continuously strive for improvement and welcome all kind of new and creative ideas. We collaborate cross functionally mainly within four different exterior product commodities. The mission is to collaborate with major stakeholders such as Research and Development to manage sourcing activities, supplier-, market-, spend analysis and contract management. We are approaching a bright future and are looking for are new Senior Purchasing Manager.
Main responsibilities
* The Senior Purchasing Manager is responsible for the group to deliver in accordance with procurement priorities, targets and business plan.
* Develop, support and coach both the individual employees and the team
* Human Resource responsibility for the group with tasks such as:
* Recruitment and new employee introduction
* Competence development and career planning
* Salary setting
* Ensure that targets within the group are settled and met, If targets are not met, develop appropriate action plans to ensure recovery
* Overall responsible for supplier base and strategy development
* Cooperation with internal as well as external contacts
Required qualifications
* Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience
* Experience from leadership roles
* Commercial or Technical University degree
* Fluent in English (spoken and written)

To succeed in this role you will have to be interested in developing people and teams. You need to be a self-motivated, inspiring and have a strong business acumen as a manager. You need to be communicative and ambitious and have problem solving skills. You need to be self-propelled and driven but at the same time team oriented with a holistic approach and you thrive to work with tasks where you use your communicative skills. You enjoy working in a global organization and with both external and internal customers. Because you work a lot with negation, your need to have great negation skills. Also, since you have a passion for change and improvement you need to be strategic, analytical and structured to meet business goals and customer needs. For you, deadlines are actually deadlines and you take pride in always delivering on time.
