Senior Project Manager - IKEA IT
Project management - Internationality - Business orientation
We are looking for three senior project managers who want to drive major international IT projects. IKEA has 343 stores in 41 countries. Supporting these stores are an organization with many functions such as product development, logistics etc. All functions are highly dependent on IT solutions in their daily work. With a high rate of expansion in an always changing world our IT systems requires constant development, adaption and maintenance.
The PMO within IKEA IT is seen as a strategic function. Today the PMO consists of about 40 project managers, plus a number of external consultants. In the role as senior project manager you have the primary responsibility for the IT scope in IKEA business projects where IT is a component. Due to IKEA's advanced IT environment, global spread and the organizations cross functionality most projects are very complex. The projects within the PMO can often stretch over a year.
Normally all projects are preceded by an extensive pre-study conducted by the business part of IKEA, when the project has IT component an ITPM is assigned for the IT part of the project. He/she will work in close cooperation with the Business PM. When the project starts you are accountable for risk assessments and for planning the entire project based on the predefined scope. You have full responsibility for project delivery and budget. It is you who decides whether the scope is clear or not, and it is up to you to plan, organize and budget the project, you will also determine what resources and activities that are required for a successful project delivery...For more information
