LKAB's open pit mines are in Svappavaara, 40 km southeast of Kiruna. In our open pits, we mine iron ore by drilling, blasting, and then crushing and processing the ore into pellets production.
Our operations also include ore processing in our enrichment plant and pellet plant.

About the service
Would you like to be involved in developing our iron ore mine? We are now looking for a driven and thorough Senior Mining Planning Engineer with a proven track record for our business unit.
In the role of Senior Mining Engineer, you will work with the mine's strategic challenges and have a key role in our team to develop mining schedules options for a sustainable, 5 years budgets, LoMP, and mine strategic projects. You also will work to quality assure the mining base and calculations that support our Mineral Reserve and associated reporting according to PERC.
In the role, you work closely with the production and technical services colleagues in the mine, which requires a proactive communications approach and an ability to work in a multicultural environment We see you as flexible and development-oriented professional with an ability to turn ideas into reality. You enjoy bringing together different perspectives and acting as a team building contributor. Here you have the opportunity to work at the absolute forefront of the mining industry.
As a Mining Engineer with us in Svappavaara Mine, you have access to the tools and colleagues to create an overview of the mine's development and thus the opportunity to become our ultimate expert.
Your qualifications
As a person, you have good collaborative and initiative skills, you work structured and independently with the ability to see challenges from a broader perspective.
You have good knowledge of English, both in speech and writing, as well as good skills in a mine planning software applications management.
We are looking for you with academic mining engineering degree and more than 7 years of proven track record in open pit operations mine planning area. The service requires a B driving license. A solid mining operation knowledge is required Commitment, Safety, Collaboration, Respect, Loyalty, Feedback and Focus are important keywords for you in your daily work responsibilities.
