Subject area for the position: Wood technology with a specialization in product and material development
Offer Location: Växjö
Working hours: 100 %
Job description:The topic and the specialization include product and material development in the wood industry. The topic includes analysis of the performance of materials as well as products through modeling and testing. The topic is interdisciplinary with concern of design, business as well as engineering factors.
Responsibilities include research and teaching as well as planning and development of courses at the undergraduate and advanced levels. Consequently the candidate has to participate in the development and implementation of existing and new programs and courses at undergraduate and advanced levels, as well as research. Special emphasis is given on scientific knowledge, recognized praxis and teaching expertise in the subject area of forest products industry.
Admission requirements
• Doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering, Wood technology, Process technology or equivalent scientific qualifications.
• Demonstrated pedagogical skills
Other bases of assesment
• Capability of a holistic approach regarding product- and production processes from a man-technology-organization perspective.
• Practical experience from the wood- or timber industry is an advantage
• Ability to develop networks and contacts to relevant parts of the forest industry.
• Demonstrated good interpersonal skills
• Ability to attract external funding as well as collaboration with the industry.
• Demonstrated management skills and administrative abilities
