At the Faculty of Textiles, Engineering and Business, research and education are conducted in business administration, industrial engineering and management, resource recovery, building technology, as well as within the textile field: design, management and technology.
The Faculty has five departments: the Department of Business Administration and Textile Management, the Department of Engineering, the Department of Resource Recovery and Building Technology, the Department of Textile Technology, and the Department of Design. The Swedish School of Textiles, as well as the two centres, the Centre for Sustainable Society Development and the Swedish Institute for Innovative Retailing/The Retail Lab, are other important elements within the Faculty. At the Faculty, there are also two research schools, in Resource Recovery and Textile and Fashion.
The Department of Resource Recovery and Building Technology is now seeking a Senior Lecturer in Polymer Technology.
Job description
The position of Senior Lecturer includes conducting one's own research, teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, supervision of degree projects, as well as the development of courses and educational programmes. Work tasks also include seeking funding for research, supervising and conducting research, and publishing in international scientific journals.
Qualifications
Formal requirements for teaching staff are regulated by the university's Appointments Procedure, Reg. 117-17.
The position of Senior Lecturer requires demonstrated pedagogical skills and a completed doctoral degree in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, polymeric materials, or another applicable field. In addition, the applicant is to have undergone training in teaching and learning in higher education involving at least 10 weeks full-time study (15 credits) or to have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge. The course can be conducted within the framework of employment during the first two years of employment. In addition, very good knowledge regarding composites, their modelling and simulation, as well as relevant manufacturing technology for composites; very good knowledge regarding bio-based composite materials; and experience of teaching in composite technology at the graduate level (Master's and doctoral level) are required.
The duties of a Senior Lecturer require good collaboration skills, the ability to work independently and in a structured manner, and the ability to take initiative and prioritise among tasks. Furthermore, you should be able to communicate well in written and spoken English.
