Your workplace
Electronic Defence Systems, a business area of Saab, is one of the world's premier suppliers of solutions for surveillance, avionics and systems to detect, locate and protect against threat.
The product area Display and Reconnaissance Systems in Stockholm/Järfälla is responsible for development of products handling video and graphics in manned and unmanned airborne vehicles. The products typically comprise algorithms for video processing, video compression and rendering of digital maps and flight data information.
We are looking for a Senior FPGA Designer to the PLD Design section within the Product Engineering Hardware department. This department is currently in an expansive phase and in need of more resources within the electronics design discipline.
Your role
You have several years of experience with development of electronics, specifically development of advanced FPGA designs. Your role will be to form a technical lead within FPGA development, covering all aspects from architectural design to implementation as well as testing in lab environment. The work is carried out in projects, typically by a team of three to eight engineers working together with HW and FPGA design.
You will be working at a hardware development department consisting of a mix between engineers with a lot of experience within video and graphics electronics as well as engineers in the beginning of their career. Normally we work in parallel with different projects and products.
Your qualifications
You have been working exclusively with FPGA design during the last couple of years and you are familiar with the latest FPGA families, tools and development methods used for the complete FPGA lifecycle. We believe that you are analytic, creative and triggered by challenging technical problems. We place great value in ability to mix well known design solutions with cutting edge technology in order to implement high performing yet robust designs for our products.
You should have:
• Several years of experience working with electronics design with focus on FPGA:s
• Experience in video and graphics electronics
• Ability to take lead on solving complex problems
• Experience of definition, management and presentation of technical research
• Experience of working close with system, software and product management
• Good skills in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
It is an advantage if you have experience within the following:
• PBA and/or PCB design
• Programming in C/C++/C#
• Requirements management
• Use of complex IP blocks
