At Supplier Quality Management (SQM) you are part of a global team with the mission to develop and maintain a world-class supplier base. It is our responsibility to secure that the supplier base can produce and deliver parts within specification to the required volume.

SQM employs approximately 300 people globally divided into three main regions: Europe, Asia and America.

The SQM Electrical team in Europe are responsible for approximately 300 supplier manufacturing sites mainly producing: ECU's, Displays, Speakers & amplifiers, Electric Distribution Systems, Batteries, Electric Motors and Alternators.

To meet the exciting challenges with electrification, autonomous driving and advanced infotainment systems we are now strengthening the group with an additional Electronics engineer.

In the team we have Senior Site SQM's responsible for the sites and Expert Site SQM's focusing the manufacturing technology development and deployment.

The group is currently 10 members strong located in Gothenburg, Prague and Gent.

Position and responsibilities

As a Senior Electronics Engineer- Supplier Quality Management you are the Volvo Car representative at the suppliers manufacturing sites and responsible for their quality and capacity performance. It will be your responsibility to drive your supplier base towards World Class manufacturing capability as well as assessing new potential supplier manufacturing sites prior to sourcing decisions.

The Senior Electronics Engineer SQM (Senior site SQM) is also a key player in the development and launch of new car projects with the responsibility for the quality & capacity assurance of the parts produced by your supply base. It will also be your responsibility to sign off that the supplier parts and manufacturing processes meets our requirements, thereby warranting delivery to Volvo Cars production and release of tooling payment.

The job requires close cooperation with suppliers including frequent visits at their manufacturing sites as well as close cooperation with Volvo Cars R&D, Purchasing and Manufacturing

Possibilities for development

This position offers a combination of strategic and operational work. You will be interacting closely with the supplier's management as well as their engineers and operators. As a Senior Site SQM you will have the possibility to visit and learn from the different suppliers in your portfolio but you will also be interacting closely with Volvo Cars R&D, Purchasing and Manufacturing. This position will give you the possibility to grow both your leadership skills and technical competence.

Professional Requirements:
* Electrical Engineering education on university level or equivalent experience
* Experience from Electronics development and/or Electronics manufacturing
* Ability to travel on frequent basis
* Fluent in written and spoken English

* Strong communication skills

* Structured and analytic way of working

Meritorious:
* Experience from high voltage Electronics and Li-Ion batteries is beneficial
* Experience from quality assurance, problems solving and lean deployment tools is beneficial
