We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Propulsion and Control Division to be based in Västerås
The Senior Electrical Engineer is a key role, of the Converter Standardization, within the Propulsion & Controls division (PPC). PPC is responsible for design and delivery of propulsion systems in the medium power range. We deliver standardized products such as Line/Motor/Auxiliary Converters including High Voltage Equipment and control equipment. Converter Standardization work with robust, high-performance and optimized system solutions. Furthermore, railway products have a life expectancy of at least 30 years, which opens the possibility to work with both old and new state-of-the-art technologies.
Purpose of the job:
Placed in Västerås you will design and develop converter products into the propulsion system. Main technical aspects of the job are: electrical design, dimensioning and simulation including specification of the components. Verification and validation activities are also part of the job including commissioning at customer sites around the word.
As Senior Electrical Engineer you will be a part of a development team and take part in order-, and development projects. You will be responsible for designing to a customer specification and be responsible for requirements, specification, architecture, implementation and verification. You will also support in problem solving of propulsion systems. To succeed in this role you need to have practical experience of electrical design and simulation. Experience from working with auxiliary system is desirable as well as practical experience from working with product and system testing. In this role you will be cooperating with colleagues worldwide, so we expect you to cooperate and share your knowledge.

• Take responsibility in projects from start to finish, including:
• Requirements
• Specification
• Architecture and Design
• Implementation
• Verification
• Work closely with the System Engineer and Product owner
• Support the organization with technical knowledge about our products
• Document your deliverables
• Support others and share your knowledge
• Apply and improve defined development processes and tools
Qualifications:
• You hold a Master?s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics or equivalent
• You have +5 years of experience working with hardware electrical design
• You have experience of simulation tools as MatLab/PLEXS
• You have experience of working power electronics and with IGBT technology
• You have experience of High Voltage testing
• You enjoy teamwork, you share your knowledge and you are motivated by problem solving
• You have high drive, flexibility and inventiveness
• You speak and write fluent English, Swedish is desirable
