Volvo Financial Services EMEA is looking for a Senior Credit Analyst / Credit Manager

Depending on the individual, their skills, experiences, and aptitude, the applicant would be better positioned for either the Sr. Credit Analyst or the Credit Manager role. Also, depending on the role, the reporting manager will be either the Director Credit or Vice President Credit & Risk.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Sr. Credit Analyst / Credit Manager is responsible for coordinating the process of VFS EMEA European Credit Board (ECB) credit submissions both for Retail and Wholesale customers within the EMEA Region. He/she reviews the credit submissions, identifies further areas for clarification/ improvement and does so by working closely with the relevant EMEA market. He/she is also responsible in ensuring a high quality and consistency of all credit submissions. Furthermore, he/ she will also compile a summary and recommendation for each submission for onward distribution to the ECB members. He/she prepares for, and is responsible for the ECB meeting's smooth organization, and ensures timely and effective routing of credit applications through the various decision levels (credit committees). In addition, he/she facilitates the compilation of various EMEA credit reports by liaising with the credit managers and credit analysts in the region.

The individual will have a high level of interface with the VFS Global Credit & Risk organization. This position is envisioned to be a feeder role for a leadership position within the EMEA Credit and Risk organization, and that the individual will have the capacity and aptitude to take the learnings and apply them to a market or a sub-regional role within two to three years.

Key responsibilities
• Assesses credit applications submitted to ECB and prepares a summary and recommendation which highlights the key risks and mitigants of the transaction
• Prepare transactions for the Executive Credit Committee (ECC) in VFS
• Ensures timely and efficient routing through the respective credit committees to deliver efficient credit turnaround times
• Produces & distributes the ECB meeting minutes as well as ensures that relevant additional conditions have been fulfilled
• Provides guidance & direction to ensure that all credit activities in the markets are in alignment with VFS and Volvo Group policies and procedures
• Establishes focus within the Sub Regions on exceptional service levels, exceeding customer and channel partner expectations towards the credit delivery process
• Provides guidance on the structure of credit deals- balancing commercial requirements with credit policies and guidelines
• Ensures effectiveness, robustness and transparency of Credit & Risk processes by analysis of KPI's and drives continuous quality and process improvements within the Credit and Risk function
• Responsible for monthly reporting activities along with continual relevant development of these reports
• Works closely with and provide support to the EMEA Wholesale and Retail Credit Directors
• Develops and maintains strong internal customer relationships

Education & professional experience
• University degree, ideally advanced degree in Business administration or Finance
• Typically minimum of 7 years of experience in credit and risk management, preferably in the financial services industry in a commercial vehicle environment
• International experience, preferably across various European countries
• Good credit, risk and finance skills, particularly in asset finance
• Excellent financial statement analysis skills

Competencies & skills
• Good knowledge / understanding of financial services products and services
• Good knowledge in credit & risk management in wholesale and retail financing
• Excellent knowledge of and experience in credit, collections and risk management
• Leader in customer focus and enabling world class service standards within the credit delivery process
• Strong analytical and interpretive skills
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Prefer good understanding of statistical, database and IT applications
• Strong interpersonal skills and strong ability to communicate
• Advanced level of English (oral/written). Additional major European languages are of benefit
