At the Procurement battery team, you are part of a global team with the mission to develop and maintain a world-class supplier base. Ensuring the supply of materials and services - at the right cost, quality ,and technology is essential for the growth of Volvo Cars. What you'll do
You will belong to the battery Hardware team and will have the opportunity to directly influence and be part of the exciting electrification journey Volvo Cars has embarked on. Thus, this is a position where you can contribute to the company 's growth and to your own professional and personal development at the same time.
More specifically, in this role, you will be leading communication and negotiation with suppliers in order to meet the company 's needs for future technologies and concepts. You've a solid financial background with deep understanding of macroeconomic trends meaning you will be responsible for both financial analysis and the development of business strategies.
By leading negotiations and building relationships with an international supplier base, you will also be responsible for the continuous improvement of the overall performance and competitiveness in the value chain.
Who you are
We are looking for you, an individual with a commercial orientation, strong organizational skills, and a results-driven mindset. You possess a profound understanding of Strategic Sourcing coupled with a financial background. Your previous experience in managing complex categories and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving are essential qualities.
In this role, you need to feel comfortable working within a global environment and collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders. A key attribute for you is the ability to present effectively, simplifying complex scenarios for easy comprehension.
As the successful candidate, you will embrace responsibilities and maintain a focus on setting and achieving goals. Demonstrating creativity and motivation in identifying new solutions and opportunities is essential for you. Moreover, you should have the courage to challenge the status quo, suppliers, and stakeholders. We expect you to exhibit proficiency in handling parallel projects and comprehending the entirety of a business case. Additionally, you should excel in building relationships both internally and externally. Acting as a strong team player who values honesty and actively engages in self-development is a key aspect of your role.
To thrive in this role, you have a University degree within Engineering or Business administration. You also have a great business insight combined with high integrity and can prioritize your own work and always deliver on time. Supplier relations are important, where your effective communication skills, is a great ability. Daily negotiation is also one of your strongest areas.
