Are you a talented C++ developer looking for a significant role working closely with a fast-paced development team? If you answered yes, Flightradar24 want to hear from you!
You will help us create an even better experience with exciting new features for our large global user base. Potential projects include interpreting VHF radio from aircraft, fuzzy matching to select intended flights, complex aggregation of multiple data sources and similar.
You are a skilled developer that enjoys engaging with a team but can also focus on solo projects, with a strong inner drive to continuously meet and exceed high-quality standards and deadlines. You are comfortable with high availability systems demanding peak performance to handle many thousands of requests per second, plus scaling near real-time sql and nosql databases with billions of rows. Programming is more than a job for you and you enjoy pet technology hobbies at home too.
What we want you to have
• At least 3 years of C++ systems development using versions '11 or '14
• Experience with the C++ STL and boost, understanding of data structures and algorithms including their efficiency
• Database experience including nosql, MySQL and performance profiling
• Understand best software development practices including automated testing, code reviews, continuous integration etc (e.g. using gtest, crucible and jenkins)
• Proven ability to actively cooperate as a key member of a technical team
• Strong written and spoken English
What we would like you to have
• Aviation industry experience and passionate about Flightradar24
• Track record developing and scaling distributed load-balanced systems in a cloud environment
• Up to date with modern open source technologies such as protobuf, redis, activemq etc
• Embedded systems experience on the latest hardware including resource optimisation
• Experience with other programming languages such as Python
• Familiar with modern version control systems including git
• Comfortable with basic Linux administation
• Cross platform experience including C++ on Windows
• Enjoy applying your strong analytic skills to complicated algorithmic challenges
• Relevant degree in computer science or similar
