The section Advanced Engineering is responsible for developing strategies and new engine concepts, fuel strategy and to deliver exhaust after treatment technology for all Volvo Cars engines. The section is dived into the following areas; Diesel Engine and Gasoline Concept & Attributes, Engine Strategy & Research, Advanced Engineering Design. We are in a very expansive period with new and exciting challenges ahead. The expansion plans of VCC involves several new propulsion systems including several new development programs.
In the Engine Strategy & Research area we are responsible for delivering the engine and fuel strategies for VCC engine programs. We are also responsible for maintaining and controlling engine related research with our partners and universities .Future fuels for combustion engines will be a key question for propulsion systems. High demand for fossil free fuels and the implication for the combustion engines will be essential. One of our key deliveries is to develop a fuel strategy and keep track of worldwide fuel properties. In order to create this strategy we benchmark current and future world fuel qualities. The Urea fluid is also handled with in this group.
We are now looking for a person who is interested working with fuels/lubricant and propulsion systems. As a Senior Analysis Engineer you will work closely together with our fuels and lubrication specialists to carryout fuel related tasks.
Main responsibilities
* Coordinate fuel related questions and support Advanced Engineering projects
* Plan tests with fuels
* Analyze and report findings for fuel and lubrication related topics.
* Maintaining world-wide fuel and Urea database
* Developing fuel specifications
* Participate in fuel related quality tasks
* Present findings and results fuel related topics within VCC
* Responsible fuel specifications for production related tasks with in the VCC group
* Support and coordination of fuel specifications t for test fuels
Required qualifications
* M.Sc. or similar Mechanical / Chemical Engineering.
* Driver's license.
* Good knowledge of fuels, combustion, fuels systems and analysis methods
* At least 3yrs experience in fuels related engineering or powertrain development
* Meritorious is if you have a background in fuel, combustion engine or emissions related areas.
* Meritorious is if you have knowledge in material capabilities with fuel and oil related issues.
