The group Safety, Strategy & Requirements are responsible for developing strategies, requirements and methods for future Volvo Cars. These are based on passionate analysis using real world customer data. The mission is directly driving the Volvo Cars' Safety Vision 2020 and beyond, that no one should be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo. Different international real world data sources are used for this mission including Volvo Cars' own Traffic Accident and Naturalistic Driving databases.

What you'll do

As a Senior Analysis Engineer, your days will include collection, preparation and analysis of real world in-depth data used for the development of pioneering safety technologies. Qualitative and quantitative analysis for safety requirements and method development will also be a part of your day. Signal processing specifications for data collection and method implementation for data analysis is also included. You will develop and implement scripts and tools for reconstruction of events used for requirements and CAE. You will also:
* Develop and document analysis reports, scripts and analysis procedures
* Develop external network for in-depth traffic accident investigations

You will act as a servant leader of the cross-functional in-depth investigation team in order to create quality assured results. To co-operate with functional teams within the Product & Quality organization in order to drive technology development and implementation will be a natural part of the task.

Do you fit the profile?

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Analysis Engineer with a background in vehicle electronics who wants to build and spread the knowledge of how to engineer the safest cars possible. We believe you have a Master's Degree in a relevant field (electrical engineering with major in software, electronics or mechatronics). You are experienced in signal processing and analysis and have a genuine interest in traffic safety and crash analysis. Since much information is only available in Swedish, you are fluent in Swedish as well as English, both written and spoken. Further you have a good analytic ability and talent to do syntheses and have a holistic view.

It's meritorious if you have an insight and interest in biomechanics of impacts, human factors, anatomy and medicine. It's also a benefit if you have a proficiency in programming (Matlab, Python or a similar language). If you are experienced in function development and Active Safety CAE or crash simulations with LS-Dyna with corresponding pre- and postprocessors for automotive applications that would be a benefit as well.

You like to work in a structured and well-organized way and contribute with your positive an innovative attitude. Further, you are self-driven, reliable and passionate about working with automotive safety.
