The Purification & Analysis department is responsible for development of protein purification tools (Protein Prep & Purification) as well as protein interaction instrumentation, software and consumables (Biacore).
Essential Responsibilities:
The department is multidisciplinary and consists of ~90 employees, responsible for new product development, support of existing products and driving innovation. The department also provides custom solutions for protein purification to customers. We are now looking for a new section manager for the Protein Prep & Purification (PPP) Application section within the Purification & Analysis R&D department.The PPP Application section is responsible for development of new protein purification chromatography resins and applications for lab scale use, as well as development of handbooks, training material, instructions for use and requirement specifications. The section also provides technical support for our existing product portfolio and Market Support activities, such as event & scientific conference support, sales support, training's, marketing material and customer collaborations. The role includes management and accountability for the section's deliveries, active participation in the P&A R&D Management team, and close collaboration with project managers. Your main task will be management of personnel, resources and activities of the section to fulfill project and department goals; as well as securing long term competencies of the section. You will also be responsible for management of line activities including recruitment, training, development and leadership of the staff, in alignment with the short and long term strategies and plans. Another important task is to drive improvements and simplifications of processes and Ways of Working as well as continuous development of technical platforms and solutions.
• Management of personnel, resources and activities within the section to meet project and department goals.
• Continuously monitor and work to secure quality, productivity and efficiency of the section.
• Within assigned technology area supply resources, tools and process framework to the projects.
• Review project work when requested by processes, project manager or whenever needed by other reasons.
• Authority to approve design input-, verification and design output documents.
• Within assigned domain of expertise, decide in technical concept and embodiment issues in projects, within framework given by project.
• Decide on tools and development methodology within the assigned domain of expertise and in alignment with company development processes.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• MSc or equivalent from relevant area
• Knowledge and experience from Protein Preparation and Purification area relevant for lab scale usage
• Significant experience in relevant product development area
• Proven leadership and people skills from e.g. line management or project management
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others.
• Strong collaboration skills
• Genuine interest in developing people and technical solutions
• Strong communication skills
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
Desired Characteristics:
• Experience in line management, project management or both
• Knowledge & experience from development of commercial products in relevant area
• Knowledge & experience of product development models such as PRD
• Business awareness
• Experience from work in multidisciplinary environments
