Principal Scientist Medicinal Chemistry & Project Director
We are looking for a highly experienced Medicinal Chemist to take on the role as Project Director for one of Medivir's priority projects. You are expected to lead and coach the chemistry team to ensure that the successful work made by this independent team continues as it does today. It is of importance to do this by a strategic and overall leadership as well as to be a hands-on experimentalist in the Project Chemistry team. Your role is also to be a cross-functional link for all kinds of information of importance for the project and for making priorities concerning overall decisions and directions of the project. It is expected that you will be involved in the scientific work with Medivir collaboration partners.
Profile:
You have a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry or the equivalent degree with a minimal of five years of experience from qualified work in the pharmaceutical industry and you possess a general knowledge in all major aspects of drug discovery including DMPK. It is a strong merit if you have experience from drug discovery work on proteases including structure based drug design. You should also have experience from a formal leadership position in the pharmaceutical industry and have the ability to prepare and persuasively present documentation of preclinical research results to corporate committees. The appropriate candidate must be a result-oriented individual who is able to deliver on time, flexible, team-oriented and creative and able to
excel in a multi-project fast-track environment. It is a merit if you are fluent in Swedish, both in speech and in writing, and you must have an excellent command in English in speech and in writing.
