MAX IV is a national large-scale research laboratory providing scientists from Sweden and the rest of the world with instruments for research in areas such as materials science, structural biology, chemistry and nanotechnology. Fully developed it will receive more than 2 000 scientists annually. 200 people are currently employed at the MAX IV Laboratory.
Tasks
The position includes the following tasks:
• Work with the commissioning of FemtoMAX.
• To be part of a research team carrying out experiments using femtosecond time-resolved X-ray techniques.
• Help to develop the capabilities and performance of the beamline.
Qualifications
The successful candidate has the following qualifications:
• A PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry or similar degree.
• Experience in using accelerator-based ultrafast X-ray sources.
• Experience in working with hard X-rays. Experience in carrying out research in fields of relevance to the user program at FemtoMAX.
• Knowledge about and experience in using femtosecond lasers and short-pulse laser technology
This is a temporary position from June 1 until July 15.
