Product Management Marine
Sales Engineering Marine is looking for a Sales & Application Engineer
Volvo Penta designs, develops, manufactures and markets marine and industrial power systems. Advanced technology and high standards of quality, combined with a high degree of support for our customers, are its prime competitive features.
Sales Engineering Marine is providing technical sales support to all Market Units within Volvo Penta for marine products. The department is continuously increasing its involvement in performance, hull design and construction matters in cooperation with our customers. Our group also provides the core competence on boat behaviour within the company derived from extensive field testing of boats in the different markets.
Main responsibilities:
• Provide expert support and advice on different propulsion systems, including IPS - Inboard Performance System
• Collect boat data, perform calculations and do measurements in the field on boats together with the OEM's
• Provide expert support and advice on hull design and continuously develop the group competence in this field
• Transfer competence to the Market Units and participate in the development of installation information and documentation
• Be the department representative in Product Development projects with main focus on installation and application of our products
• Work with long term development of tools and methods that will add value to our products and improve the installation quality
• Represent Volvo Penta at Customer & OEM meetings
Qualifications:
• M. Sc, Naval architecture or equivalent
• Fluent in both spoken and written Swedish and English is required. Additional language skills are preferred
• Experience from the marine industry, leisure and/or commercial, is preferred
• Experience from, and interest in the practical operation and/or maintenance of boats is preferred
• Experience from international contacts is preferred
Profile
We are looking for a person with an open and positive attitude, with a strong focus on providing sales support and technical advice, with the customer in mind. You should be goal orientated and able to work on your own initiative. Your ability to communicate with people is essential.
