ROLE OVERVIEW
The Resource Planner is a critical role supporting the Resource Planning function for our Professional services. Be part of the Resource Management Team and responsible for scheduling all resources within Unit4 Nordics.
Working within the Professional Services division, liaising with Professional Services Managers (PSMs) and Project Managers (PMs), the Resource Planner will manage the resourcing process to include proactively meeting utilisation targets, minimising bench resource and consultant travel.
The Resource Planner will also take resource requests for ad hoc services directly from customers (internal and external) where no project planning is required, establishing deliverables and skills requirements and identifying correct resource.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To manage the allocation of resources to projects and assignments as needed. Activities include:
• Proactively managing spare resources, working with PMs and PSMs to ensure efficient use of Resources
• Working with PSMs to manage pipeline and bookings
• Minimising project management time spent on resource conflict resolution
• Managing re-organisation of resource bookings
• Manage internal relationships with Unit4's Services and Sales Team
• Ensuring best fit of skills to requirements
• Ensuring consultants? bookings do not result in unreasonable or unfeasible travel
• Working with Resource Manager/ Services Managers to identify resource needs and skills requirements
• Optimising bookings of consultants to meet utilisation targets, including cross divisional opportunities
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & PERSONAL QUALITIES
The following experience, skills and personal qualities are required necessary for the role of Resource Planner:
• Self-motivated, commercially aware, able to manage diverse and sometimes conflicting responsibilities and able to demonstrate the ability to perform under pressure
• Well organised with excellent attention to detail
• Able to work as part of a team
• Proactive, can achieve deadlines in accordance with strict timetables, setting their own priorities from high level objectives
• Have a positive 'can do' attitude, taking ownership for the resolution of issues
• Good communication skills at all levels, both with internal and external customers
• Ability to present alternative resourcing scenarios to customers and PMs, handling frustrations and intractability in a positive calm manner to enable on-going discussion until a compromise is reached.
• A good understanding of IT projects, the project lifecycle and resource scheduling requirements/challenges required to ensure that appropriate processes and systems are in Place
• Experience of managing the delivery of services in a business software environment with an understanding of completeness of income
• Ability to remotely manage and support resources on customer sites
• Working knowledge of project management methodology
• Competent user of Microsoft products, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and MS Project
• Bachelor's Degree
• Fluency in Swedish and English. Danish and Norwegian also desirable
