SEI is recruiting a highly motivated Research Associate with a strong background in research on integrated natural resource management, and quantitative methods. The successful candidate will contribute to exciting research programs especially on sustainable sanitation and on the sustainability of international commodity supply chains.

https://www.sei-international.org/working-for-sei/3636The applicant should have a strong interest in quantitative approaches to help understand some of the major environmental and sustainability challenges the world is facing in the 21st Century. No previous working-experience is required but the candidate is expected to be capable of working both independently and in teams in a highly flexible and exciting research environment, whilst also being comfortable investing time as needed in basic data preparation and processing routines. The candidate will participate in research publications, international workshops and a range of activities developed by SEI researchers.
Necessary Qualifications
• Advanced university degree (minimum Master's degree or equivalent) in environmental science, ecology, natural resource management or related field. If not formally trained in this field the candidate should demonstrate extensive personal experience for research and development associated with natural resource management.
• Experience of research and/or practical work on integrated natural resource management.
• Knowledge and experience of quantitative research methods and models, including processing and analyzing data in a common statistical package or environment (e.g. R)
• Good communication skills, including the ability to make public presentations and communicate within multi-cultural settings.
• Fluent in English
