hela Sverige We are looking for a research assistant for a fixed-term position at the Research Group for Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and translational gastroenterology, School of Medical Sciences, Örebro University, Sweden.
Background
The research performed by the Research Group for IBD and translational gastroenterology, aims to improve the quality of life of patients with gastrointestinal diseases including IBD. The overarching aim of our research is to identify signatures of markers and clinical variables for improved clinical decision making and to uncover pathophysiological mechanisms behind these markers or signatures of markers. Epidemiological and mechanistic links between various disease elements and across different phases of the diseases are examined. Our research programs are conducted in collaboration with national and international research groups, patient organisations, and private companies within the biomarker-, pharmaceutical- and digital sector.
The current position is part of ongoing research aiming at exploring outcomes of targeted therapies in IBD. The project is performed at Örebro University, in collaboration with other Swedish Universities and Hospitals.
Duties and responsibilities
Our aim with this recruitment is to further strengthen the research with a project leader for 6 months. Duties include quality control, management and analyses of data. The person will be responsible for organising local meetings and drafting reports related to the research project.
Qualifications
The person we are looking for has: A Master in health sciences or medicine, and good oral and written communication skills in English. Previous professional experience from higher education that is of relevance to the position and the duties it involves, is an advantage.
Your knowledge and skills should also include expertise in public health/epidemiology AND biostatistics. In addition, you should be able to use statistical software, preferably STATA, have experience from data management, data analyses and academic writing. Previous research experience and publications is also a merit.
Great importance will be attached to your personal qualities; the ability to work independently and engage with other people in a way that instils confidence; and a good track-record when it comes to cooperation.

This is a fixed-term part-time position (50%) for 6 months. At Örebro University, salary depends on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience (and where appropriate, positions are subject to a trial period).
