One of our colleagues is going on parental leave and we are now seeking to employ a librarian who is interested in providing qualified service to our library users and in promoting knowledge of our library's multifaceted resources.
This is a 10-month temporary position.
Your main tasks:
- Work in the library's customer service team
- Promote library resources and services in social media and on our website
- In collaboration with colleagues, provide library introduction and training for new students
- Additional various tasks according to interests
Your qualifications
• Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent education
• Experience in customer service and reference work, preferably from an academic
library
• Knowledge of and an interest in the library's educational mission
• Knowledge of library systems, catalogues and databases
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in Swedish and English
• Desire and skill to adapt to emerging technologies to enhance user experience and
engagement - Having academic knowledge of social and economic sciences is a plus
In order to be successful in this role, you must be service oriented and interested in user needs. You need to be able to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment as well as to take initiative and work independently.
About the Library
The Stockholm School of Economics Library is specially focused on economics and has approximately ten employees. The library offers students and researchers of the Stockholm School of Economics a creative meeting place and a stimulating physical and virtual study and learning environment. Our main purpose is to provide university library users with qualified service and access to information resources in the area of economics and to constitute an educational resource for the university. The Stockholm School of Economics Library currently uses the Sierra library system, but will transition to Alma and the Primo discovery system in the winter of 2019
